Ray’s frequent and impressive successes means he is regularly invited to speaking engagements about ESI-related issues. He holds a law degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law (Indianapolis), and his complete bio can be viewed here.
Ray is a seasoned attorney and an expert technologist with deep experience at every stage of ESI management. After his first document review project over a decade ago, he quickly recognized the need for a cost-effective, uniform, and truly defensible approach to identifying responsive and/or privileged documents. While he continues to refine his lawyering skills as a partner at MBCB Law, he is also the founder ultimately responsible for the development of the coding guidelines and review technologies for Proteus’s eDiscovery activities.
In his leadership role, Ray has overseen foreign language document review, complex database reporting, and data extraction across multi-national projects. His advanced ESI collection and data processing experience allows him to work seamlessly with in-house and opposing counsel to address the unique issues presented by their electronic data stores—with defensibility and repeatability at the forefront. Ray also incorporates the expertise of Proteus’s vendor-partners to develop palettes that enhance the efficiency of the coding and document generation processes. By serving as a translator between technologists and attorneys, Ray has produced consistent results that have saved his clients countless hours and millions of dollars.
